CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Police Department has released information about a house explosion that occurred on Monday, Sept. 2 in Casper.

No one is thought to have been in the home or injured at this time.

People in the neighborhood reported hearing the explosion and feeling their homes shake.

“At first, I thought it was a sonic boom,” one lady said.

Police were asking neighbors from at least one home next door to the explosion whether they needed any support from victim services.

A teenager who was upstairs in that home at the time of the explosion said he had to find his mom’s shoes before making his way out of his house due to shattered glass and debris upstairs.

His father said the ceiling of their game room had at least partially collapsed after the explosion.
