CASPER, Wyo. — On Tuesday, Bob Ide was sworn in to the Wyoming Senate District 29 seat during a ceremony in Cheyenne, the Legislative Service Office said in a press release.

Ide defeated former Sen. Drew Perkins during the Republican Primary and was elected to the Senate District 29 seat during the General Election. Perkins resigned from his seat on Nov. 10 as he prepares to join Governor Mark Gordon’s team as chief of staff.

Ide will serve the remainder of Perkins’s unfinished term before starting the term he was elected to on Jan. 10, 2023.

Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Kari Jo Gray administered Ide’s oath of office, with Senate Vice President Larry Hicks presiding over the swearing-in ceremony, the LSO said.

“I’m truly honored to be appointed as a senator to Senate District 29, and I will do my best to serve Natrona County and the State of Wyoming,” Ide said during the ceremony, according to the LSO.
