Emergency crews in the Sheridan area have released details and photos of a vehicle fire that occured in the area Thursday.

Statements from emergency officials say that on May 28, 2020 at 12:13 pm Sheridan Fire-Rescue responded to a reported vehicle fire at milepost 33 I-90. Goose Valley Volunteer Fire Department had requested the mutual aid assist.

“Upon arrival at 12:28 pm Engine-2, encountered heavy smoke and fire from a fully involved small passenger vehicle,” a written statement said on social media Friday. “The car was located in the Westbound off ramp at the Meade Creek Road exit. All occupants had exited the vehicle.”

Fire crews say an “aggressive fire attack” was made utilizing pre-connected hand lines and tank water. The fire was under control at 12:32 pm and crews transitioned to salvage and overhaul, extinguishing remaining hot spots.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue reports they remained on scene until 1:09 pm, when the fire was turned over to GVVFD.

There were no reported injuries to occupants or firefighters.

Personnel from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Rocky Mountain Ambulance, and Goose Valley Volunteer Fire Department were listed as responding to assist with this incident.
