According to a press release sent to local media, Evansville Police Chief Tom Laughrey has returned to the job after a leave of unknown nature.
Early reports said that Laughrey was out for the position, and the rumor mill had even named possible replacements. However, a release sent to media by Evansville Mayor Phil Hinds, says that Laughrey has returned to duty as of Thursday Afternoon. Hinds wrapped up the brief statement with the phrase “his job is not in jeopardy.”
