CPD and Special Olympics Wyoming announce Law Enforcement Torch Run

The Special Olympics Wyoming is currently holding their Law Enforcement Torch Run as a kick off to the Summer Games in Laramie.

The run will make its way through Casper on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019.

The run will begin at the Mills Police Station at 9:00 am and will end at the Hat Six Travel Plaza in Evansville.

Personnel in all areas of local, state, and federal law enforcement will be participating. Participants will run or bike a portion or the full 10.4 mile route while wearing bright yellow shirts.

Torch Run activities take place all around the state. Hundreds of law enforcement personnel escort the ‘Flame of Hope’ on its way to the Opening Ceremonies in Laramie on May 9th, 2019. The arrival of law enforcement and the lighting of the cauldron will officially begin the games.

The mission of the LETR is to promote community awareness of and to provide support, opportunity and encouragement to the athletes of Special Olympics Wyoming.

More than 85,000 volunteer law enforcement officers participate in the event throughout thirty- five nations, twelve Canadian provinces and all fifty U.S. states.
