CASPER, Wyo. — $25,000 has been award to support 14 different Casper events.

The Casper City Council approved of the allocation of the funding on Tuesday, May 21. The Community Promotions funding was allocated to each of the events based off of voting that Council previously submitted to the City.

The $25,000 in allocations includes $9,107.14 in cash funding. $6,067.86 of the total is for in-kind fee reductions for City services. $9,825 refers to City facility rental fee reductions.

Community Promotions funding is intended to support events that bring people to Casper and support its economic development and “to improve the quality of life for residents of Casper,” a memo in a Council work packet explains.

A total of $112,385.13 had been requested in cash, in-kind and facilities funding by the 16 applications that the City received. City staff set aside $25,000 from the General Fund for FY 2020 Community Promotions.
