CASPER, Wyo. — Boz Scaggs’ “Out of the Blues Tour” includes a performance in Cheyenne.

“Acclaimed singer, songwriter and guitarist Boz Scaggs will bring his signature style of rock-, blues-, & R&B-influenced ballads to the Cheyenne Civic Center,” the City of Cheyenne announced.

The performance begins at 7:30 pm Thursday, Sept. 19.

Scaggs was a guitarist with the Steve Miller Band before going solo, landing multiple songs on the top 40, according to the announcement.

Those hits include the Grammy winning “Lowdown”, “It’s Over” and “Lido Shuffle.”

“Later, singles like ‘Breakdown Dead Ahead,’ ‘Jo Jo,’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done to Me,’ from the Urban Cowboy soundtrack, secured his spot as a rock legend,” the City of Cheyenne continued.

“It’s appropriate that Boz Scaggs’ new album is Out of the Blues, since the blues genre is what first sparked his musical career. The album includes covers of songs by Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland, Jimmy Reed, and Samuel ‘Magic Sam’ Maghett, as well as Neil Young’s ‘On the Beach.’”

Ticket prices range from $39-$150, the City of Cheyenne said. Those will go on sale online at 10 am Friday, June 21.

They’ll also be available beginning at 11 am at the Cheyenne Civic Center Box Office, located at 510 West 20th Street in Cheyenne.

“Beware of scalpers—authorized tickets to this event will only be sold at CheyenneEvents.org with these price points,” the City of Cheyenne cautioned.

“’Music has been a constant companion and I’m feeling more free with it than ever,’ Scaggs said. ‘I feel like I’ve found my voice through all these years, and I’ve gotten closer to where I want to be with my approach.’”
