CASPER, Wyo. — Anyone who thinks they can plan a great road trip in Wyoming may want to consider entering a 2019 “Fly Your WY Road Trip Contest.”
The Wyoming Office of Tourism is asking people to submit three day Wyoming road trip itineraries. They announced the contest on Facebook on June 28.
“What parts of Wyoming move you?” the announcement asks. “Which local gems would you tell your closest friends not to miss? Do you prefer Wyoming’s adventurous side, western charms or family-friendly events?”
“When creating your itinerary, think: road trip. If someone had a few days to explore the state, where would you tell them to go and what would you recommend they do there? Your 3-day itinerary must be accompanied by 3 photos of the area. Bonus points for creativity and hidden gems.”
Submissions will be accepted through midnight September 2. The Wyoming Office of Tourism will then select what they consider to be the top three submissions.
Those three will then be posted to social media and the public can vote from September 9-23. The winner of the public vote will receive a “Wyoming Winter Getaway trip for two in Dubois, Wyoming.”
That will be a three day, two night trip from January 18-20, 2020. Winners will stay at the Bighorn Sheep Center and will get the chance to see bighorn sheep, cross-country ski and go on a guided snowmobile tour.
Airfare will also be provided. The Wyoming Office of Tourism says the estimated value of the award is $1,100.
People must be 18 and legal residents of the United States to enter.
