CASPER, Wyo. — The Mills Town Council has adopted a new “Media and Social Media Policy.”

Mills citizen Leah Juarez attended the Council’s Wednesday, July 10 meeting and told Oil City that the Council approved the new policy.

The Council’s agenda does not lay out what the new policy is.

Juarez says she thinks it has something to do with some Town of Mills employees speaking to the press about the appointment of Dave North as the Mills Fire Chief.

Oil City will attempt to reach out to the Town of Mills on Thursday to ask about details of the policy and the reasons for its adoption.

Oil City called the Town of Mills earlier on Wednesday to request information about what was on the agenda for the meeting, but did not receive a reply.

The Town of Mills generally posts the agenda and a meeting packet to their website ahead of Council meetings, but neither the agenda nor a meeting packet had been posted as of 8:25 pm Wednesday.

UPDATE: Oil City obtained a copy of the policy on Thursday. That can be viewed in this article.
