Mills amends agreement with USA Trucking

CASPER, Wyo. — An agreement between the Town of Mills and USA Trucking, LLC has seen some changes.

The Mills Town Council approved additions to the Memorandum of Understanding with the company during their Wednesday, July 10 meeting.

The initial MOU was approved on Feb. 18. The agreement is intended to address some Mills citizens concerns about noise, dust and water run-off from the USA Trucking work site near Poision Spider Road.

The MOU includes an agreement that USA Trucking will limit its bulk unloading hours to 10 am-6pm. The company also agreed that it would not store minerals and chemicals near Poison Spider Road.

USA Trucking agrees in the MOU to conduct efforts to prevent storm water runoff from carrying soil into the Mills storm drain system.

Mills and USA Trucking would also cooperate to seed, mulch and add trees to the area between the company’s operations and the residential area. While USA Trucking will provide the trees and other beautification elements, Mills agreed to provide water to irrigate the area and to conduct the seeding and mulching.

The additions to the MOU approved on Wednesday state that USA Trucking will provide an easement so that the Town of Mills can pass a waterline across the property. Mills agrees to pay USA Trucking $5,000.

That waterline will connect a fire hydrant to provide better fire suppression capabilities, according to the MOU additions detailed in the Council’s meeting packet.
