CASPER, Wyo. — Midwest’s junior high and high school football teams will be forfeiting the rest of the season.
The school issued an announcement on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
“Midwest School, unfortunately, will be forfeiting the rest of the junior high school and high school football season due to low numbers for both teams,” the school said on Facebook. “Safety is the main priority for our student-athletes at Midwest, and with low numbers it has been determined by coaches and administration that the remainder of the season will need to be cancelled.”

“We value and appreciate the time, effort, and resources given by parents, athletes, transportation, officials and the Midwest community.”
Oil City reached out to the Natrona County School District on Wednesday for comment, but received no reply. The district’s policy asks that all communication with individual schools get approval from NCSD public relations officials.
