CASPER, Wyo. — An inmate at the Fremont County Detention Center died on Aug. 31.

The Fremont County Coroner’s Office has found that Ty Wolfname’s death was a suicide.

“Mr. Wolfname’s suicide was a tragic event that occured in our Detention Facility and has had a profound effect on our staff,” the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said in a Thursday, Oct. 17 release.

The sheriff’s office adds that they are committed to ensuring the facility is safe and secure. That includes providing professional mental health services to inmates as well as staff training to ensure they can identify mental health issues.

“Mr. Wolfname exhibited no warning signs of his impending actions, not did he reach out to our Detention staff for assistance with any mental health concerns prior to taking his own life,” FCSO adds.

They expressed their condolences to Wolfname’s family and friends.
