CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Police Department says that seven liquor establishments, visited during a recent alcohol compliance check, passed the examination.

Two establishments reportedly failed

CPD Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd told Oil City, during an interview in June, that individuals under 21 are selected to enter liquor establishments within the city, where they attempt to buy alcohol.

“We’re not deceptive, all we’re trying to get at is having the bartender ask for an ID,” Ladd says. If asked for an ID, the undercover buyer presents a real ID showing their authentic age.

“What we’re looking for, is the bartender going to look at that ID and calculate the correct age or not,” Ladd says. “If they ask for the ID at all.”

Servers in establishments failing the compliance checks are issued appropriate citations.

On November 6th, 2019, the Casper Police Department conducted nine alcohol compliance checks in Casper.
