Casper staying warm ahead of possible weekend rain and snow storms

CASPER, Wyo. — Temperatures in Casper are forecasted to reach into the 50s on Thursday, with Friday possibly getting up to 61 degrees.

But precipitation may return this weekend with the National Weather Service in Riverton calling for a chance of rain and snow before 10 am Saturday.

The NWS says the precipitation would likely turn to rain after 10 am.

They say there is a 50% chance of precipitation with “little or no snow accumulation expected.”

Here is their seven day forecast for the Casper area:

Today Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Breezy, with a southeast wind 7 to 15 mph becoming southwest in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a southwest wind 14 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Friday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Southwest wind 10 to 13 mph.

Saturday A chance of rain and snow before 10am, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. West northwest wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Southwest wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
