CASPER, Wyo. — 2-pound Natural Grocers brand organic soybeans are being recalled due to possible mold contamination.
Colorado-based Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Inc. issued the recall on Nov. 13 after routine testing revealed the presence of mold in the product.
“The recalled product is packaged in clear plastic bags weighing 2 pounds and bearing the ‘Natural Grocers’ label,” a release shared by the United States Food and Drug Administration states. “Only packages bearing 19-168 and 19-205 as the packed-on dates are subject to recall. The packed-on date can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of the label.”

People who may have purchased the soybeans should throw them away or return to them to the store.
“Production of the product has been suspended while the Food and Drug Administration and the company continue their investigation into the source of the problem,” the release adds.
The product was distributed to 154 Natural Grocers’ locations in Wyoming and these other states:
- New Mexico
- North Dakota
