CASPER, Wyo. — Mondelēz Global LLC is voluntarily recalling some 11 ounce boxes of Nabisco “Cheese Nips” due to potential plastic contamination.
A Wednesday, Nov. 20 annoucement shared by the United States Food and Drug Administration says that the product may contain “small food-grade yellow plastic pieces from a dough scraper that was incorporated into the production process.”
The company noticed yellow plastic pieces on their manufacturing equipment which made them aware of the issue. Only products in the United States are subject to the recall.

“This recall is limited exclusively to the Cheese Nips product listed in the grid, available at retail stores nationwide,” the FDA adds. ” No other Mondelēz Global LLC products nor any other geographies are included in or affected by this recall.”

No injuries or illnesses have been reported.
“Consumers who have this product should not eat it, and should discard any product they may have,” the FDA adds. “Consumers can contact the company at 1-844-366-1171, 24 hours a day to get more information about the recall, and Consumer Relations specialists are available Monday- Friday, 9am to 6pm EST.”
