Two Casper Qdobas seeking bar and grill licenses to serve alcohol

(Qdoba, Facebook)

CASPER, Wyo. — Two Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurants in Casper are seeking bar and grill licenses.

The City of Casper offers a total of 14 such licenses. The city council agreed to set aside two licenses for restaurant owner John Johnson.

Johnson plans to use one for a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop under development and a second for use at Fire Rock Steakhouse.

Another such license owned by Marvin Piel Family, LLC will be returned to the city.

Should the city council approve the two Qdoba requests, that would mean that 13 of the 14 available licenses would be accounted for. The number of available licenses is based on Casper’s population, according to the city.

Such licenses cost $10,500 for the first year and $3,000 for annual renewals. They allow businesses to sell alcohol on premises only, with the exception of wine bottles purchased along with a full meal.

Restaurants with bar and grill licenses require that food sales account for 60% of their revenue.

The city council will vote to establish Dec. 17 as the public hearing for the two Qdobas’ requests during their Tuesday, Dec. 3 meeting.

The two Qdobas are located at 5030 East Second Street, Suite No. 1 and 4009 CY Avenue.
