CASPER, Wyo. — A 15-year old Casperite will be hosting a special Christmas party for guests at the Wyoming Rescue Mission.
Diego Jimenez asked for something unique as his birthday gift this year.
“When Jimenez was asked what he wanted to do for his birthday, he told his parents he wanted to help the Mission this Christmas,” the Wyoming Rescue Mission said on Thursday, Dec. 12.

The Christmas party will be held at 5 pm Saturday, Dec. 21.
“All my life I have had a warm home, cozy bed and food on my table to eat. I know that there are children and families that are not able to have things I have,” Jimenez said.
Jimenez and his family and friends will provide dinner and dessert to guests at the mission along with gifts for children currently living at the Park Street Center.
“My parents have always taught me that it’s better to give than receive,” Jimenez said. “Every Christmas, I am privileged to have even one present,”
Wyoming Rescue Mission Executive Director Brad Hopkins says that over 2,291 meals have been provided this month.
“It is so heartwarming to see youth in our community like Diego passionate about serving those most in need this Christmas season,” he said.
