CASPER, Wyo. — “Here be dragons,” goes the old medieval phrase for unexplored parts of the world.
Dragons creep into popular culture and who is better suited to exploring such a phenomenon than a dinosaur museum?
“Where did dragon stories come from?” asks the Tate Geological Museum. “Were they based on dinosaur bones? Have you ever heard of the dinosaur called Dracorex Hogwartsia?”

The museum, along with Bloomsbury Publishing, will be hosting a “Harry Potter Book Night” starting at 5:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 6.
“We will study dragons and dinosaurs, play muggle and wizard games with the Casper College Goodstein Foundation Library, learn about owls from Audubon Wyoming and make a potion or two,” the event description adds. “Face painting, treats and ‘pumpkin juice’ is provided.”
“Don’t forget to wear your favorite wizarding robe for our costume contest.”
The event is free and open to the public. The Tate Geological Museum is located at 125 College Drive in Casper.
