Former UW starting QB transferring to Idaho State

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – University of Wyoming Quarterback, Tyler Vander Waal announced on Twitter that he is transferring to Idaho State University.

Vander Waal began the 2018 season as the starting QB for The Cowboys only to find himself replaced by Sean Chambers during the eighth game of the season. He did start the last four games of the 2019 after Chamber suffered a season ending injury.

The former Poke completed 169 of 346 passes, 49.6 percent, for 1,822 yards in his two years as a Wyoming Cowboy. He passed for six touchdowns and had eight interceptions during his tenure.

Vander Waal was facing being buried on the depth chart as Chambers and true freshman, Levi Williams are thought to be competing for the starting QB spot next season for the Cowboys.

Idaho State University is a member of The Big Sky Football Conference.
