David Gary Gardner
1971 – 2020
David Gardner, 48 went to his heavenly home, peacefully in his sleep, on January 14, 2020 but won’t be forgotten. David was born in Fort Kent, Maine on July 8, 1971 to Gary and Paula Gardner.
He graduated from Fort Kent High School and went on to pursue his Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, where he met his wife, Rebecca Robinson and they married in August 15, 1992 as Sophomores. David was commissioned in the United States Navy as an Officer, upon graduation in May 1995, where he served until the fall of 2006.

In 2002, David and Rebecca welcomed a son Joshua David and in 2004, their son, Caleb Jonathan was added to their family. David loved learning and achieved success in completing a Master of Arts Christian Studies, a Master of Divinity Ministry, Master in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership. David loved kayaking, Harley Davidson motorcycles, reading and, most of all spending time with his boys and wife.
David is preceded in death by his sister, Rene, and is survived by his wife, Rebecca, sons, Joshua and Caleb and his parents, Gary and Paula Gardner.

Donald John Eckelberg
1929 – 2020
Long time Casper resident, Donald J. Eckelberg died January 3, 2020, he was 90 Years old.
Don was born September, 1929, in Sparta, Wisconsin and was raised in Tomah, WI. He graduated Valedictorian from Tomah High School in 1948. He earned Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin, at Madison, in 1952.
Don met Marise Grovesteen at Tomah High School, they were married March, 1949.
Mr. Eckelberg worked as a petroleum geologist, beginning his life long career in Houston, TX employed with Shell Oil Co, later moving to Casper, WY to work for Conoco, Inc. Don was employed with independent and major oil companies, most notably, Vice Present of exploration for North West Exploration in Denver, CO. Don became an independent oil and gas exploration and production consultant, starting in 1983.
Don loved pheasant hunting with his sons and fishing trips with all of his children, long road trips around WY, CO, MT, WA and Canada, to vacation mainly, and view the surficial geologic formations along the way, explaining and teaching his children how they were formed. Geology was truly his passion.
Don is survived by his five children, Kurt of Glenrock, WY, Jenne (James Sexton) of Golden, Co, Eric of Casper, WY, Kim (H. Gregory Pearson) of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Bart (Michelle) of Lakewood, CO; seven grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marise, 2010, granddaughter Amanda Sexton, 1999 and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held January 17, 2020 at 10:30 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1240 S. Missouri Ave., with Pastor Jon Olson officiating.
