CASPER, Wyo. – When schools were closed, many parents wondered how they would keep their kids engaged and learning at home. Families dependent on school lunches or weekend food bags wondered how they would keep their children fed. Thankfully individuals, organizations, and businesses have responded quickly to the growing needs in our comunity.

Food

Natrona County School District Food Service will provide takeaway meals, Monday thru Friday, from 11:30am – 1:00pm, to all individuals 18 years and under at the following sites. Signage will be outside to direct individuals where to pick-up the meal. Sites include:

Little Shop of Burgers is offering free sack lunches to school-aged children Monday through Wednesday 11:00am–3:00pm, and Thursday through Saturday 11:00am-8:00pm. Books/Comics

Norse Comics & More is giving away free comics to school kids while supplies last, no purchase necessary. They also offer curbside pick-up.

Education

Charter Communications is offering 60 days of free internet and Wi-Fi services to new customers with children in K-12 or college/universities. Call 1-844-488-8395 to speak to a representative. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

The Science Zone has temporarily closed their museum; however, they are producing “Daily Dose of Science” videos to keep school-aged children engaged with the sciences as they remain at home.

The Natrona County Public Library will be live-streaming story time from 10:30am – 11:00am every day, Monday thru Friday.

Art at Home is a local livestream from Paradise Valley art teacher Christy Johnston. She will stream fun, family-friendly activities for students to do at home every weekday at 10:00am, for free. Visit the Art at Home Facebook page for more info and updates.

Excel Academy Private School has been livestreaming science videos on their Facebook page.

Park Elementary is live-streaming morning announcements, read-aloud story time, and other videos on their Facebook page.

Evansville Elementary is streaming video greetings from teachers, read-aloud story time, and other content on their Facebook page.

Exercise

Rising Star Tumbling & Dance Studio will be live-streaming classes on their Facebook and Instagram. Classes will vary from dance party, to stretching, to tumbling and more! Tune in Monday thru Friday at 9:00am, 12:00pm, and 6:30pm.

The Natrona County Public Library will be hosting aerobic exercises and other activities led by Angel Capone Evans every Friday at 3:00pm.

Lifetime Health & Fitness is creating videos for the Lifetime for Life online series. Visit their Facebook page for new videos and class updates.

YMCA has temporarily suspended all facilities, classes, childcare, and programming services. However, you can visit their YMCA360 website, youtube channel, and Facebook page to take part in virtual group exercise classes and livestreams.
