CASPER, Wyo — The Wyoming Rescue Mission raised $235,174.67 as a result of its $100,000 May Match Challenge, according to a release from the organization.

$135,174.67 were raised from the community, and $100k were matched by the Martin Family, The McMurry Foundation, Zimmerman Family Foundation, and two anonymous donors, according to the release. Donations came in by way of mail, online, in-person and Facebook.

From the release:

The funds will provide critical support to restore homeless lives and families through overnight shelter, hot meals, case management and life recovery programs. This is especially vital due to the increased need the Mission has seen this year, as well as the projected numbers for the remainder of the year, which indicate that 2,800 unique individuals will be served, 70,000 meals will be served and 48,000 nights of stay will be had.

“The Casper community and partners around Wyoming have knocked the $100k May Match Challenge out of the park,” Brad Hopkins, executive director of Wyoming Rescue Mission, said. “Thank you for your incredible generosity to restore many needy Wyoming neighbors to hope and opportunity in these especially trying times!”
