CASPER, Wyo. – A dramatic video recording has surfaced that shows a pickup truck losing control, jumping the median and stopping in Conwell Park during a protest march along East Second Street on Wednesday afternoon.
The truck was reportedly carrying other protesters as they marched back from Casper’s east side. The cross-town impromptu march took place after a planned protest at David Street Station and the Hall of Justice in response to the death of George Floyd.
Casper Police say the crash appeared to be accidental, likely caused by a “pedal malfunction.”

The truck missed protesters, but people inside the truck were treated at the Wyoming Medical Center, according to police.
In the moments after the crash, police deployed the Special Response Team “since other officers were occupied responding to the crash,” according to a police spokesperson.
