Public hearing on proposed RMP utility rate increase scheduled for September

CASPER, Wyo —The Wyoming Public Service Commission (WPSC) released notice Tuesday that it will hold a public comment hearing September 15 regarding Rocky Mountain Power (RMP)’s request for a utility rate increase. In-person, teleconference, and virtual meeting attendance options are available.

RMP is requesting an average overall retail electric utility service rate increase of 1.1%, which would raise an additional $7.1 million per annum, according to the release. The rate increase would take effect January 1, 2021. Rate mitigation proposals and changes to the Energy Cost Adjustment Mechanism to include a recovery of $219.9 million are part of the proposal.

The hearing will bein Tuesday, September 15, 2020, in the Commission’s hearing room located at 2515 Warren Avenue, Suite 300, Cheyenne, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

All interested persons are encouraged to attend this Public Comment Hearing which will be conducted in accordance with the Wyoming Administrative Procedure Act, Commission Rules, and subject to any applicable national, state or local public health related orders or directives.
