CASPER, Wyo — Wyoming Highway Patrol has released a preliminary report of a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near Sinclair on Wednesday, Oct. 14, that killed one person and injured another.
According to the report, t, 60-year-old Idaho resident Richard Shook was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound in the eastbound passing lane and collided with an eastbound Dodge Ram 5500 pulling a gooseneck trailer.
Highway Patrol reported that the Ram’s forward momentum carried both vehicles into the south borrow ditch where they came to an uncontrolled rest.

Highway Patrol indicated that driver inattention was a possible contributing factor in the crash.
The accident occurred around 6:30 am Wednesday. The report indicated that severe wind conditions were present, and seat belts were in use.
