CASPER, Wyo. – A deep collection of color photos gathered by the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce over the decades preserve a long-gone era.

The pictures themselves aren’t necessarily interesting from an artistic standpoint. However, what they do is capture the businesses, fashions, people, vehicles and buildings of a city in its post-war boom, and help unleash a flood of memories and nostalgia for those who’ve lived here over the years.

Since most historic photos of Casper are usually in black & white, we couldn’t resist bringing these color images out of the Casper College Western History Center’s archive for all to see.

They were kindly digitized by archivist Vince Crolla at Oil City News’ request, and we hope they spark a pleasant memory or two from decades past.
