CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation said on Thursday that U.S. 20/26/87, also known as the Yellowstone Highway, is expected to close overnight Monday in the Casper area.

The closure is planned as Reiman Corporation prepares to pour a concrete bridge deck overnight Monday, May 17, weather and condition permitting.

“In order to pour the new deck, the highway will be closed to all traffic from 7 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning,” WYDOT says. “The closure will affect the bridge area only. Westbound traffic will be diverted to East F Street (ramp) to Beverly Street/Bryan Stock Trail. Eastbound traffic will be diverted to I-25.”

“Message signs are being placed in the area to alert motorists to the upcoming closure.”

Cheyenne-based Reiman Corp. was awarded a $4.3 million contract to rehabilitate seven bridges in Natrona, Converse, Laramie and Platte County. That contract includes the Yellowstone Highway bridge work in the Casper area. Work under the contract is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
