CASPER, Wyo. — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Thursday announced the location of a new LDS temple that will be built in Casper.
“The Casper Wyoming Temple will be built on a 9.5-acre site located at the intersection of southwest Wyoming Boulevard and Eagle Drive,” a news release from the church states. “Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 10,000 square feet.”
The Casper Temple will be the second in Wyoming, joining the Star Valley Temple located in Afton.
The Casper Temple is meant to serve LDS congregants in Natrona, Converse, Carbon and Niobrara County, according to Casper and Casper East Stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Presidents Brandon Smith and Steven Higginson.
“We are so pleased with the site of the Casper Wyoming Temple,” the two said in a joint statement. “In a location easily accessible by all who wish to visit, it will enhance the beauty of the surrounding area. The new temple will be a great blessing to the members of the Church in Casper and the surrounding region, and will have a positive impact on our community as a whole.”
