CASPER, Wyo. — Casper College hosted its seventh annual T-Bird Trek Sunday; a clear, cool, still morning. There were 192 finishers completing either the 5K, 10K, or two half-marathon options.
The event raises about $15,000 toward scholarships for CC students, institutional grants, and alumni programs, Associate Director of Development and Alumni Engagement Ann Dalton said.
The course, using the Platte River Trails system and scenic Casper Mountain, has in years past attracted runners from Alaska, Florida and Minnesota, according to Denise Bressler, executive director of the alumni foundation.

Finisher Ismail Jimad told Oil City he usually does 5Ks on a treadmill in the morning before going to work. For his first race of a greater distance, he opted to do the out-and-back half-marathon, running from the CC campus to Lookout Point and back.
“Really, I just wanted to push myself,” Jimad said.
Jimad is a physician with the Wyoming Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Infectious Disease: “So you see why I’m running. It gets the stress out.”
