CASPER, Wyo. — Wyoming Bootlegger Liquor will be closing its Casper store on Saturday, October 2.
“With sadness we want to let everyone of our valued customers and supporters know that we will be offering up our last cheers on October 2, 2021,” Wyoming Bootlegger Liquor said in an August 23 Facebook post. “This is a bittersweet moment as we will be closing and miss our interactions with each of you but the new adventures for each of us will keep us busy around our wonderful @5150local.”
The business has been offering discounts as it attempts to liquidate its inventory ahead of closing.

Oil City spoke asked an employee of the business for further details regarding the closure, but the employee said approval from the owners would be needed in order to share further details.
Modern Electric Company, doing business as Wyoming Bootlegger Liquor, controls Casper Retail Liquor License No. 21. The Casper City Council is expected to consider a request to transfer ownership of this license to Wyoming Downs OTB.
The transfer request would allow Wyoming Downs to utilize the liquor license for its Wyoming Downs Blue Roof location at 1121 Wilkins Circle in Casper. That is the former location of Sidelines Bar & Grill.
The city council on Tuesday will look to establish October 5 as the public hearing date for consideration of the retail liquor license transfer. If that request is approved, Wyoming Downs would immediately be able to conduct sales under the license.
This summer, Wyoming Downs sought control of a bar and grill license from the city to support the Blue Roof business where live horse betting, electronic gaming machines and online sports wagering are offered. The city council denied Wyoming Downs’ request for the bar and grill license.
Retail liquor licenses have less restrictions than bar and grill licenses. The City of Casper details the differences between the various liquor license types online.
