CASPER, Wyo. — With afternoon temperatures in the low 80s, Casperites and visitors got down to David Street Station to enjoy the gentle part of the season with the annual “Fall Fest.”

Kids swarmed the Albertson’s pumpkin patch, selecting and hoisting their choices for later carving. Towering Lego edifices were erected and destroyed. Parents instructed kids on the proper timing and sequencing for maximum parachute fun, and families lined up for a circuit on the trackless train ride.

Casper local Sarah Carper played an array of folk and country tunes, including a few of her own. After Carper’s performance, kids with Dance Evolutions of Casper showcased a variety of hip-hop moves, and the team picked up a few new members, according to owner-director Tonya Willadson.

Some of her students come back years later and tell Willadson their time with the studio gave them the boost of confidence to tackle speech and debate and other endeavors in high school.

Families listed their non-negotiable fall traditions, including visiting the Green Acres Corn Maze, going all-out with decorations, and watching classic scary movies (“Hocus Pocus” for families, John Carpenter’s “Halloween” for adults).
