WBC approves final changes to Broadband Development Grant Program rules

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $252,000 to provide broadband service in unserved and underserved rural areas in Wyoming, said the USDA in a release.

CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) approved new rules for Chapters 1 and 2 of the Broadband Development Grant Program at its board of directors WBC Board of Directors at its July 12 public meeting.

The rules were adopted in response to legislation enacted during the 2021 legislative session and were adopted by unanimous action of the board, WBC said.

The rules have been promulgated and can be found on the Secretary of State’s Administrative Rules page under “Current Rules” and the Business Council (085) tab.

Additional details about the Broadband Development Grant program are available on the Wyoming Business Council’s website at wyomingbusiness.org/broadband.

NOTE: An earlier version of the story stated that the WBC Board of Directors met last Thursday to adopt emergency rules in Chapter 3 (related Confidential Provider Information) and new rules for Chapter 4.

Those are set to be discussed at the Board meeting September 30. There was no WBC Board of Director’s meeting September 23. Oil City regrets the error.
