After ‘huge success,’ health department to hold two more third-dose drives in October

CASPER, Wyo. — After issuing 600 third doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 250 flu vaccines Thursday, the Casper-Natrona County Health Department (CNCHD) said it hosting two more drive-through vaccination clinics for eligible individuals this month.

Third doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine will be administered at the Ford Wyoming Center Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 30 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Third doses are currently only available to individuals who received their first two doses of Pfizer. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are currently not eligible.

“Flu vaccines will also be available during third dose drives, giving individuals the opportunity to protect themselves from seasonal influenza and COVID-19 at one convenient time,” the CNCHD said.

Eligible individuals are anyone who received their second dose of the Pfizer shot at least six months ago and are:

  • 65 years and older
  • Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
  • Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
  • Age 18+ who work in high-risk settings, including workers in:
    • Healthcare,
    • Emergency support
    • Education
    • Food
    • Delivery
    • Public transit
    • Manufacturing
    • Corrections
    • Grocery stores
  • Age 18+ who live in high-risk settings like dorms, homeless shelters, or correctional facilities

Doses will be administered by CNCHD staff to individuals in their cars.

The Wyoming Department of Health provides COVID-19 case, variant, death, testing, hospital and vaccine data online. The department also shares information about how the data can be interpreted. COVID-19 safety recommendations are available from the CDC.
