Above normal precipitation ‘likely’ in much of Wyoming over the next weekend

CASPER, Wyo. — After a dry forecast through most of next week, Wyoming is expected to get above normal precipitation amounts in the two weeks beginning next Thursday.

The 6-10 day climate outlook issued Friday by the National Weather Service says there is a 50-60% chance of above normal precipitation in all but the southeast corner of Wyoming between October 7 and October 11. Chances in the southeast are between 33% and 50% for above normal precipitation.

For October 9-15, chances for above normal precipitation are between 40% and 60%. (Again, the forecast is drier in the southeast.)

Temperatures are expected to be near or slightly above normal in the 6-10 day outlook, while the 8-14 day outlook sees temperatures “leaning” toward below normal for the western two-thirds of the state.
