CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper City Council on Tuesday, October 5 voted to authorize the holding of a special election for consideration of a mill levy tax that specifically benefits the Downtown Development Authority (DDA).
The council passed a resolution that sets the date of the special election as November 2, 2021. Voting will take place at the Natrona County Courthouse.
The election is not open to the general public, but rather to commercial property owners within the “Downtown Development Area” in Casper. Commercial property owners within the district are asked to consider the mill levy tax every four years.
The election will ask property owners to consider approving a 16 mill tax that would be imposed through 2025.
The tax does not apply to residential properties within the Downtown Development Area.
