CASPER, Wyo. — A report by the Wyoming Highway Patrol has identified the suspect who died in a crash following a high-speed pursuit with troopers around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

27-year-old Ohio resident Tyrone Meeks was identified as the driver of a Chrysler Voyager who fled troopers after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Green River Wednesday afternoon.

Law enforcement deployed spike strips, which deflated the front driver’s side tire, and the rear driver’s side tire was deflated by striking a cable barrier earlier in the pursuit.

The Chrysler lost traction while taking Exit 99 at a high rate of speed, rotated 90 degrees and slid broadside into the rear of a belly dump combination commercial vehicle.
