CASPER, Wyo. —  The Wyoming Highway Patrol has released a preliminary report on a fatal motorcycle crash in Casper on the afternoon of Sunday, November 7.

Casper Police officers responded to the scene at East Third Street and Country Club Road shortly after 4:00 p.m.

According to the WHP, the motorcycle was southbound on Country Club. The van approached the intersection with East Third Street and turned left in front of the motorcycle.

“The motorcycle was unable to avoid the van and crashed into the passenger-side rear door,” the WHP said.

The Natrona County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 25-year-old Casper resident Cruz Cain Paulsen. Highway Patrol notes that a helmet was not in use.

In a statement, Casper police said the driver of the van was located quickly after the incident and that alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.
