CASPER, Wyo. — A portion of the asphalt path in front of the Tate Pumphouse is getting a facelift, according to the Platte River Trails Trust.

Major portions of the path were bulging and heaving, and a roughly one-hundred-yard section will be replaced with concrete by Crown Construction. Funding the project was paid for exclusively by the Trust, according to Executive Director Angela Emery.

A detour around the Pumphouse is in place.

The PRTT said on social media that construction should be complete in time for the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K, which starts at the Pumphouse.

Concrete pouring is expected to begin Monday, Emery said.

Emery said the Trust is working with the City of Casper to determine the next priority area for trail renovation. The section north off the First Street Bridge underpass, parallel to North Ash, is being looked at next, Emery said.
