$50K divided among four winners in Visit Casper Business Challenge

CASPER, Wyo. — Four companies have been selected as winners of the Visit Casper Business Challenge, winning a collective total of $50,000 in prize money.

Visit Casper announced Wednesday that the following four winners were selected in the challenge:

  • C Bracket Horse Barn – $20,000
  • Old Town Family Fun – $10,000
  • Barbarian Coffee Roasters – $10,000
  • Alcova Resort – $10,000

C Bracket Horse Farm plans to expand horseback trail rides and western experiences for visitors. Old Town will look to improve entertainment for locals and visitors. Barbarian Coffee Roasters will be focused on work on a coffee-roasting facility and storefront. Alcova Resort plans to build a new lodge with cabins.

“In addition to the seed funding, each winner is eligible for one-on-one mentorship and in-kind legal, financial and marketing support and services,” Visit Casper said. “The Visit Casper Business Challenge is made possible through CARES funding, with the intent to help Casper’s visitor economy recover and drive new destination growth.”

Finalists in the challenge presented to a panel of judges on Friday, November 12. Judges included Kristin Wilson from Gear Up and Get Out There, Angie Schrader from Flow State, Tiffany Gamble with Hat Six Travel Center and Sleep Inn, James Scoon with Wyoming Office of Tourism and Nat Steinhoff from Lisa Burridge and Associates.

“Each of the finalists was impressive,” Schrader said. “As judges, we left feeling very excited for Casper’s future. Casper has always been a wonderful place to live, work and play, and with this seed money from the Visit Casper Business Challenge, each winner will be better equipped to play a role in Casper growing as a destination. A huge congratulations to all of the winners.”
