Thanksgiving closures: Both Walmarts, Target, Home Depot and more closing in Casper on Thursday

People looking to get shopping done in the Casper area will want to avoid stores like Walmart on Thursday.

CASPER, Wyo. — People looking to get shopping done in the Casper area will want to avoid stores like Walmart on Thursday, November 25 with a number of national retailers planning closures for Thanksgiving.

The holiday store closures are a dramatic turnaround from just a couple of years ago, when retail stores would open early on Thanksgiving to attract holiday shopping traffic.

The Casper locations of the following national retailers and other businesses will be closed on Thanksgiving:

  • Walmart (both Casper locations)
  • Sam’s Club
  • Target
  • Best Buy
  • Home Depot
  • JCPenny
  • Kohl’s
  • DICK’s Sporting Goods
  • Bed Bath & Beyond
  • Petco
  • Ross Dress for Less
  • Marshall’s
  • Natural Grocers
  • FedEx Ship Center

Post offices will also be closed on Thanksgiving.

Not all stores will be closed on Thursday. Here are some places that will be open on Thankgsiving:

  • Big Lots: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Walgreens: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Family Dollar: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Dollar General: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Bourgeois Pig: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Starbucks: Times vary by location
  • Smith’s: 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Ridley’s: 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Albertsons: 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Retail stores that are closing on Thanksgiving will be open again for Black Friday in the Casper area.
