CASPER, Wyo. — The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is hosting its annual model railroad exhibit throughout the month of December, according to a release by the Bureau of Land Management.

The exhibit is presented and operated by the Casper-based Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association, which operates a clubhouse in North Casper. Organized in 1987, the association provides model railroading educational and recreational opportunities.

The display will be open at the Trails Center, located at 1501 N. Poplar St. (by the Ford Wyoming Center), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days:

  • December 2-4
  • December 9-11
  • December 15-18
  • December 15-18
  • December 29-31

This year’s holiday railroad exhibit, “Passenger Trains from the Past,” offers something for every age, the Trails Center said. Guests are invited to view and operate a variety of model trains. Club members from the railroad association will be on hand to assist and educate train enthusiasts.

“This is truly a hands-on operation where you will have the opportunity to touch and operate the trains,” said Homer Whitlock, one of the club’s charter members.
