UPDATE: I-25 from Wheatland to Cheyenne was re-opened to all traffic at 1:50 p.m.
CASPER, Wyo. — High winds have prompted the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) to close highways in southeast Wyoming to light, high-profile vehicles Saturday morning.
Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland is partially closed due to blowover risk, as is Interstate 80 and WY 258 between Laramie and Walcott Junction.
The closures took effect at 8:42 a.m.
West winds at 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph are expected to continue until at least 5:00 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
