CASPER, Wyo. — The driver of the vehicle that hit a pedestrian on Wednesday was suspected to be under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash, according to a statement given by Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd.
Officers were called to the intersection of East 2nd Street and South McKinley around 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 9 for a report of a car crash with suspected injuries.
A vehicle had hit a pedestrian. Ladd said the pedestrian was quickly transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
“A CPD Officer, who is also a Certified Drug Recognition Expert, evaluated the driver of the suspect vehicle for impairment. After conducting a DWUI investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle was suspected to be under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash,” Ladd said.
The incident remains under investigation.
