CASPER, Wyo. — Dollar General is opening in three new locations in the Casper area.
While construction might alter the dates of the grand openings, the first locations are slated to open at 1431 S. McKinley St. and 6000 CY Avenue in the upcoming weeks. Additionally, a 4570 W. Yellowstone Highway in Mills location is planned to open early this summer.
In accordance with Dollar General’s mission, store representatives said the company has “taken a number of factors into consideration, carefully evaluating each potential new store location to ensure they can continue to meet their customers’ price, value and selection needs. They further strive to provide convenience for customers who may not have affordable nearby retail options.”
Each location will have 6–10 employees ranging in positions from stockers to cashiers and managers. According to Dollar General, “anyone interested in joining one of America’s fastest-growing retailers … may apply for available positions online at www.dollargeneral.com/careers.”
The locations also have the potential to have fresh produce, but the company has not confirmed whether this will take place in the Casper stores.
According to the Forth Quarter Annual Report, the organization’s “net sales increased 2.8% to $8.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared to $8.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2020. The net sales increase was primarily driven by positive sales contributions from new stores, partially offset by the decline in same-store sales and the impact of store closures.” The forth quarter ended March 17, 2022.
The company acknowledges that while the economy continues to struggle with uncertainty in regards to COVID-19, supply chain issues, and other factors, they are projecting net sales growth of approximately 10% over the next fiscal year.
Dollar General also seeks to better the communities in which they join by supporting the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, which “awards grants each year to nonprofit organizations, schools and libraries within a 15-mile radius of a Dollar General store or distribution center to support adult, family, summer and youth literacy programs.” The organization is hopeful to employ in the Casper area as well.
