GILLETTE, Wyo. — A former Crook County attorney will take over as the newest Circuit Court judge in the Sixth Judicial District, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced Friday.
Lynda Bush, currently a Crook County deputy and prosecuting attorney, was appointed by Gordon to fill a vacancy in the Sixth Judicial District Circuit Court left behind due to Judge Matthew Castano’s appointment to District Court, per an April 29 press release from the governor’s office.
“I want to thank [Gordon] for the honor of this appointment, and I look forward to serving the citizens of Crook and Weston Counties,” Bush said in a statement.
She previously served as a deputy and prosecuting attorney for Weston County and was a State’s Attorney in Edmunds County, South Dakota, per the release.
“Ms. Bush’s humility and her experience with both the Crook and Weston County courts will serve her well in the role of Circuit Court Judge,” Gordon said in a statement.
Bush earned a bachelor’s degree from Northern State University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota. She resides in Sundance with her husband and children.
