CASPER, Wyo. — Over 100 handbells will ring out at the Ramkota Hotel during the 2022 Wyoming Spring Ring. The free public concert will be held Saturday, May 7 at 2:30 p.m.
About 50 regional performers with two handbells each (and some with four) are rehearsing meticulously with renowned handbell and chorale composer Michael J. Glasgow, who is returning as this year’s guest clinician, according to performer Carolyn Deuel.
Two of the pieces to be performed are Glasgow’s own compositions. Deuel said the concert never ceases to amaze and produces a neat “texture of sounds and sights.”
The concert is free, but at-will donations at the door would be well received, Deuel said.
Carnegie Hall veteran Glasgow is the bass section leader for the North Carolina Master Chorale and the Choral Conductor for the Tar River Orchestra & Chorus, heralded by the New York Concert Review for his “abundant melodic gift.”
