CASPER, Wyo. — Trail racing season kicks off Saturday, May 21 with the annual Trail Mix Run, featuring dirt single-tracks in south Casper, with three- and 10-mile race options. Organizers called the course a “mixed-surface run with challenging hills, spring creeks, and usually mud!”

The race begins at Mike Sedar Park at the trailhead by the BMX track parking lot at 8:00 a.m.

The course includes the Casper College campus, Yesness Pond, the neighborhood behind the Sunrise Shopping Center, and the hilly dirt trails west of the Ridgecrest neighborhood. The three-mile course is wheelchair and stroller accessible, race organizers said.

Registration proceeds benefit the Reach 4A Star Riding Academy.

The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 50, fairer weather than in some past years.

The race is also part of the Visit Casper Marathon’s Six-Pack Adventure series highlighting prominent races in the area leading up to the Casper College T-Bird Trek.
