‘Diamonds and Wranglers’ theme for Casper’s summer parade as Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo celebrates 75th anniversary

CASPER, Wyo. — The Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo will be celebrating its 75th anniversary this summer, and festivities will include the annual parade in downtown Casper starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12.

The theme for the parade is “Diamonds and Wranglers – A 75-Year Celebration.”

“Join us for numerous floats and, of course, candy for the kiddos,” the Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo’s announcement for the parade stated. “It’s an unofficial holiday here in Casper and you won’t want to miss it.”

People wanting to enter floats or otherwise participate in the parade have until Thursday, June 30 to apply. Application forms are available from the Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo’s website.

The Crabtree Amusements Carnival will be in Casper from July 8 to July 16 at the Natrona County Fairgrounds, 1700 Fairgrounds Road. Rodeo events will be held nightly from July 12 through July 16.

Ahead of the parade and in conjunction with the Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo, a chalk art festival will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 9 in downtown Casper. A monster truck show will follow at the Fairgrounds at 7:30 p.m.

A BBQ contest will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at the Industrial Building at the Fairgrounds.
