CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Animal Medical Center will be hosting a “Cash for Critters” fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at 4700 S. Valley Road.

The medical center’s “Cash for Critters” fund is used to help pet owners struggling to pay veterinary bills for medical attention their pets need, according to Haley Minchow with the CAMC. As an example, a veteran who had only $400 was trying to pay a bill at the medical center a couple of days ago and the Cash for Critters fund was used to cover $250 of his bill.

Use of the Cash for Critters dollars is at the discretion of veterinarians at the CAMC, Minchow said.

Saturday’s fundraiser will offer pet washes and toenail trims for $10 to raise money for the Cash for Critters fund. There will also be $2 dog popsicles available.

The dog wash fundraiser is an annual event for the CAMC that began in 2012, Minchow said. Other fundraisers have been held, such as a paint night last year at Artisan Alley, where baskets were raffled off. That fundraiser raised over $1,300 for the Cash for Critters fund.

“I know that doesn’t seem like much, but it helps,” Minchow said.

The Groom Room and Sunrise Pet Lodge are helping with Saturday’s fundraiser.
